On the night of Wednesday, January 22, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine using strike drones. Throughout the night, the Russians launched 99 UAVs, most of which were successfully intercepted, reported the press service of the Air Forces.
From 19:00 on January 21, Russia launched 99 strike drones of the Shahed type and imitation drones from the territories of Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as from the Russian locations of Millerovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
“The air assault was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the press service of the Air Forces reported.

As of 09:00 on January 22, Ukrainian defenders had shot down 65 strike drones. An additional 30 UAVs were lost without negative consequences.
However, as a result of the enemy attack, there are damages in several regions. During the night, one of the Russian drones fell on a residential high-rise building in Mykolaiv, causing a fire. Several other drones attacked Sumy, damaging 13 buildings and resulting in injuries.
Moreover, according to the Air Forces, as a consequence of the Russian drone attack, institutions, industrial enterprises, and civilian objects were damaged in Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Cherkasy regions.
