On Wednesday, November 13, Russian forces attempted to breach the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupiansk direction, with some Russian soldiers dressed in Ukrainian military uniforms. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy assault groups attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders in four waves. The Russians engaged approximately 15 units of equipment for the assault – tanks, armored personnel carriers, and the UR-77 mine-clearing system.
The General Staff notes that some of the Russian occupiers were dressed in uniforms resembling those of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This constitutes a direct violation of the laws and customs of war and is considered a war crime.
“Through skilled and decisive actions, our defenders halted the enemy, destroyed all of their armored vehicles, and eliminated a significant portion of their personnel. It is important to highlight the professionalism and coordination of our infantry, tank crews, artillerymen, and UAV operators,” the agency concluded.
