On the morning of Monday, November 25, Russian occupiers struck the city center of Kharkiv, damaging residential buildings. As a result of the attack, over twenty people were injured, reported Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Oleg Synegubov.
The Russians attacked the city around 08:30. Local authorities reported a strike in the central part of the city in the Kyiv district. Following the strike, a fire broke out on one of the city's main streets.
As of 09:00, the number of injured reached 13, according to Oleg Synegubov. Nine of them were hospitalized. Later, the head of the regional administration reported a total of 16 injured.
Updated at 10:05. Ihor Terekhov reported that the number of injured in Kharkiv due to the enemy attack had increased to 19.
“The impact occurred in the central part of the city, in a densely populated residential area. The strike hit courtyards surrounded by high-rise buildings. Utility structures and vehicles were on fire,” said Ihor Terekhov.
According to Terekhov, preliminary reports indicate that 41 buildings suffered damage from the Russian shelling to varying degrees.
Updated at 11:25. The press service of the Kharkiv police reported that as a result of the Russian attack, 23 people aged 21 to 71 were injured – 16 of whom were hospitalized. Investigators have opened a criminal case for violations of the laws and customs of war under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Rescuers, law enforcement officers, and volunteers are working at the attack site. Preliminary information suggests that the Russians struck the city with an S-400 surface-to-air missile.
