On the evening of Wednesday, November 27, the occupiers launched strike drones at Ukraine. On Thursday, November 28, at 05:00, the Air Force reported that the Russians had deployed 7 Tu-95MS aircraft and launched missiles.
The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, reported that the Russians are attacking energy infrastructure facilities.
“Once again, the energy sector is under a massive attack from the enemy. Attacks on energy facilities are occurring all over Ukraine. The transmission system operator, NEC 'Ukrenergo,' has urgently implemented emergency power outages,” – wrote Herman Halushchenko.
Consequences of the Russian attack on Ukraine
According to information from the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synehubov, the Russians struck the Kyiv district of the regional center three times. The mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, clarified that a civilian enterprise was hit during the attack.
As reported by the deputy head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, Nataliya Zabolotna, residential buildings were damaged in the region due to the missile attack, an economic building was destroyed, and a private car caught fire. One woman was injured.
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, reported that the debris of a downed missile fell on the territory of a private enterprise in the Darnytskyi district. There were no fires or casualties.
In Rivne, over 280,000 subscribers were left without electricity due to the Russian attack. There are also water supply disruptions. Schools in Rivne and parts of the Rivne region have switched to remote learning.
In Sumy, three strikes were recorded against the infrastructure of the Shostka community. Information regarding casualties is being clarified.
The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported that the Russians attacked energy infrastructure facilities in the region.
In Odesa, six private houses were damaged as a result of the Russian attack. A fire occurred in a garage in Odesa, and firefighters are working to eliminate the aftermath. Reported the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper.
In Volyn, approximately 215,000 subscribers were left without power. The head of the Regional Military Administration, Ivan Rudnytskyi, reported that important infrastructure that was left without electricity has been switched to generator power.
In Khmelnytskyi, air defense shot down five Russian missiles. However, as a result of the attack, there is a partial power outage in the Shepetivka and Khmelnytskyi districts. Reported the head of the Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Tyurin.
Due to the missile attack, Zhytomyr was left without electricity and water supply. The press service of Zhytomyrvodokanal reported that they are currently not connecting wastewater facilities to generators. This will be done if electricity does not return to the city by 18:00.
Moreover, due to power outages in certain areas, six trains of "Ukrzaliznytsia" are delayed by more than an hour.
Volodymyr Zelensky reported that all necessary services are currently working to address the consequences of the attack. The head of state noted that the Russians used "calibers" with cluster munitions for strikes on civilian infrastructure. This complicates the work of rescuers and energy workers. The president also reiterated the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense to counter Russian attacks.
“In several regions, strikes have been recorded with 'calibers' using cluster munitions specifically targeting civilian infrastructure [...] Every such attack proves that air defense systems are needed now in Ukraine, where they save lives, rather than being stored in depots. This is especially important during the winter period when we must protect our infrastructure from targeted Russian strikes,” – said Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to information from the Air Force, the Russians launched 91 missiles of various types and 97 strike drones of the Shahed type as well as unidentified drones at Ukraine. In turn, Ukrainian defenders shot down 79 missiles and 35 drones, with another 62 UAVs being lost in specific locations.
