On the morning of December 25, Russia attacked the DTEK thermal power plants, causing significant damage to the TPP equipment.
DTEK Group reported this in a Telegram message.
“Today, the Russian Federation carried out yet another massive terrorist attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. DTEK thermal power plants were targeted,” the message states.
It is noted that as a result of the massive attack, the TPP equipment was severely damaged. Following the shelling, energy workers promptly began addressing the consequences and restoring the equipment's operation.
According to DTEK, this is already the 13th massive attack on the Ukrainian energy sector this year and the 10th on the company’s energy facilities.
In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by Russian forces, DTEK thermal power plants have been shelled over 200 times, as indicated in the report.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that Russian troops are attempting to deliver massive strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, and due to the missile threat, energy supply has been limited to reduce risks to the system's operation.
