Russian military forces dropped a 250-kilogram aerial bomb on a school in the village of Bykivtsi in the Belgorod region. This information was reported by the Telegram channels ASTRA, citing sources, and "Pepel," referencing local residents.
According to "Pepel," the bomb fell overnight from November 18 to 19, and no one was injured.
ASTRA reports that the projectile penetrated the roof of the building and is currently located in one of the classrooms on the third floor.
From the outside, there are no visible damages to the school building; however, a crack has appeared on one of the walls due to the bomb's impact, as noted by "Pepel."
Judging by the information in the school's group on "VKontakte," classes at the educational institution are being held in person. On November 18, a post was published on the page stating that the workweek at the school "traditionally began with a line-up, raising the flag, and singing the national anthem of the Russian Federation." There has been no announcement regarding the temporary suspension of classes in the school's group.
Russian military forces regularly drop aerial bombs on populated areas in border regions. According to ASTRA, this has occurred at least 150 times in 2024. The most frequently dropped bombs are FAB-250 and FAB-500. Typically, they explode upon an emergency descent. After being retrieved, they are destroyed by explosives experts.
