Russians are breaking their legs and shooting themselves to get to the hospital, thereby avoiding the storming of the islands in the Kherson region. This was reported on Tuesday, January 28, by the partisan movement "Atesh."
According to the partisans, there have been mass cases of self-harm among the servicemen of the 61st Separate Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces. Russians are deliberately breaking their limbs and shooting themselves to present it as a combat injury and gain admission to the hospital. The agents note that in this way they are trying to avoid participation in the assaults on the islands in the Kherson region.
“Soldiers are resorting to desperate measures to avoid participating in the assaults on the islands in the Kherson region. Harsh living conditions, massive losses, and the lack of prospects for success force them to seek any means to evade combat operations,” the post states.
Meanwhile, partisans continue to receive information about the critical morale situation in the Russian units.
On Monday, January 27, spokesperson for the operational-tactical group "Kherson," Pavlo Drohal, reported that Russian troops continue attempts to establish themselves in the island zone at the mouth of the Dnipro River, carrying out artillery strikes on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and civilian infrastructure. From January 20 to January 26, the enemy conducted 529 shellings and carried out 3 airstrikes. There were 19 attempts to conduct assault operations, which were repelled by Ukrainian fighters.
It is worth noting that in December 2024, three service investigations were recorded in the 126th Brigade of the Russian Federation due to sabotage. Russians intentionally damaged boats and motors to avoid the storming of the islands on the Dnipro in the Kherson region.
