A record 38 Russian Shahed-type strike drones entered Belarus overnight from November 24 to 25, at least one of which was reportedly shot down by the Belarusian Air Force, according to the monitoring group "Belarusian Hayun."

Overall, Russia launched 145 drones targeting Ukrainian sites overnight, with Ukrainian air defense systems downing 71 strike drones, as reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This incident marked the largest incursion of Russian drones into Belarusian airspace since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

According to the "Belarusian Hayun" community, in the past day, the Belarusian Air Force scrambled fighter jets four times to counter the strike drones.

The monitoring group reported that most of the strike drones traveled along the southern border of Belarus with Ukraine, particularly in the Gomel region.

Minsk has never publicly opposed Moscow – its key ally – regarding incidents involving drones.

On September 5, Belarusian military officials confirmed for the first time that they shot down a Russian drone over their territory.

Despite Belarus not directly participating in the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the country allows Russian troops and missiles to be stationed on its territory.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on November 2 that Russia launched over 2,000 Shahed-type drones into Ukraine in October.
