The familiar emotional characters face new challenges when a new emotion, “Self-Awareness,” emerges in the girl's mind. Moreover, five additional emotions join the mix, leading to a grand conflict and a struggle to establish “who's in charge.”

“The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim”

The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, directed by Kenji Kamiyama, premieres on December 4

The events take place 183 years before the storyline depicted in the film trilogy. The famed fortress Helm’s Deep, home to the King of Rohan, Helm Hammerhand, comes under attack from the Dunlendings. Led by Wulf, who seeks revenge for his father's death, ruthless warriors are ready to wipe the fortress off the map. Helm's daughter, Hera, plays a key role in the battle.

The fantasy action and anime “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim” serves as a prequel to the story shown in the original film trilogy based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Initial discussions about the anime project began in 2021, 20 years after the first adaptation of “The Lord of the Rings.” To preserve the franchise's atmosphere, Philippa Boyens, the screenwriter of the original films, was involved in the scriptwriting. Subsequently, other writers worked on the film's plot, while Boyens took on the role of producer. The direction was entrusted to Kenji Kamiyama. To create the visuals, the actors' performances were captured using CGI motion capture technology and later processed into 2D animation.
