A 20-year-old drunk truck driver fatally struck a cyclist near Lutsk.

On the road near Lutsk, a MAN truck driver fatally struck a 64-year-old cyclist. Investigators later discovered that the driver was behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol.

As reported by the police, the accident occurred on Friday, November 15, between the villages of Borokhiv and Piddubtsi in the Lutsk district. A 20-year-old MAN truck driver collided with a 64-year-old cyclist, a resident of Piddubtsi. The woman died at the scene as a result of the accident.

After conducting a breathalyzer test, investigators determined that the truck driver was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He has been charged under part 3 of Article 286-1 (violation of traffic safety rules by drivers operating under the influence, resulting in death) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A court will soon determine his preventive measure.
