The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has appointed the commander of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar," Pavlo Palisa, as the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office. The officer will inform the leadership of the Office and the president himself about the situation at the front, reported Volodymyr Zelensky in his address on Friday, November 29.
The corresponding decree appointing Pavlo Palisa as Deputy to Andriy Yermak was published on November 29 on the website of the Presidential Office.
"A combat commander, the commander of the 93rd brigade 'Kholodny Yar.' He understands well what is happening in the brigades, at the front. And I need exactly such a person to have accurate daily information directly from the front," the president justified the appointment.
It should be noted that on November 29, Volodymyr Zelensky also dismissed Oleksandr Pavliuk from the position of Commander of the Ground Forces and appointed Major General Mykhailo Drapaty to replace him. The president also appointed a new Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi – the new appointee is officer Oleg Apostol.
What is known about Pavlo Palisa
The serviceman graduated from the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi, and also received education at the Command and Staff Institute of the National Defense University of Ukraine and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, where he interrupted his studies in 2022 to join the defense of Ukraine.
Pavlo Palisa, with the call sign "Hunter," commanded the 5th Separate Assault Regiment in 2022, which participated in battles for the Lysychansk Oil Refinery, Siversk, Vuhlehirska TPP, and the battles for Maiorsk. In 2023, he became the commander of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar." He participated in the battles near Bakhmut and has been awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi III degree, which he received in January 2023 for personal courage and dedication during the defense of Ukraine.
