Amazon is forced to halt the filming of the second season of the Fallout series due to widespread wildfires affecting Los Angeles and its surrounding areas, reports Deadline.

Initially, the project was set to resume on January 8, but the fire department has revoked filming permits in several areas of the city. The filming process is now postponed at least until February, with exact timelines depending on the situation.

In addition to Fallout, work on projects such as "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service," "Grey's Anatomy," "Scams," and Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show has also been halted due to the fires.

Despite many studios operating on closed sets, authorities are requesting a reduction of all non-essential activities to clear roads for emergency services.

Production companies based in the disaster area, including Sony Santa Monica, Naughty Dog, and Riot Games, are also taking safety precautions. Offices are temporarily closed.

According to AccuWeather, the incident in California could become the worst wildfire in the state's modern history.
