Police are searching for the culprit behind a fatal car accident in Rivne region.

On the evening of November 19, in the village of Sukhovolya, Varash district, an unknown driver struck a 60-year-old pedestrian and fled the scene. The victim succumbed to his injuries. Police are currently searching for the perpetrator of the accident.

According to the press service of the Rivne region police, the fatal accident occurred around 7:00 PM. Preliminary reports indicate that the suspect hit the 60-year-old resident of Sukhovolya, who was walking along the roadway in the same direction.

Investigators suggest that the fleeing vehicle may be a green Nissan.

For violating traffic safety rules that resulted in the victim's death (part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the perpetrator faces a prison sentence of three to eight years.
