Poland has provided Ukraine with three helicopters for training cadets.

They will be utilized for training future pilots at the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

On Saturday, December 21, Ukraine received three helicopters from Poland, which will be handed over to the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. This was reported by Ukraine's ambassador to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar.

On Saturday, December 21, Bodnar published photos of the helicopters, noting that they had already arrived from Poland to Ukraine. The helicopters include two Mi-8s and one Bell 412-HP. They will be used for training future pilots at the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration and the Military Property Agency, fulfilling the decision of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, the State Agency of Strategic Reserves transferred three helicopters from police property to Ukraine as assistance,” the State Agency of Strategic Reserves of Poland stated.

What is known about the provided helicopters

The Bell 412-HP is a multipurpose helicopter developed by the American company Bell Helicopter. It features a four-blade rotor and powerful engines. It is used for rescue operations, transporting cargo and passengers, as well as for military purposes.

The Mi-8 is a versatile multipurpose helicopter that has become one of the most widely used in the world since 1961. It is utilized for transporting cargo, passengers, military operations, medical evacuations, and rescue missions.

Recall that in Lviv, on Tuesday, December 17, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. After the meeting, the politicians held a joint press conference, where they informed that Ukraine is already utilizing the 45th military aid package. The next, 46th package is promised by Poland to be provided in February 2025.
