Subscribe“Ukrainian retirees can increase their pension payments by applying for a special allowance. Unfortunately, this allowance is not available to everyone. It is calculated as 40% of the subsistence minimum for individuals who have lost their ability to work. Currently, this amount is 944 UAH,” reports Yekaterina Kotenko.
According to her, the right to this allowance is granted to individuals living alone, those in need of care from outsiders, particularly social workers, people over 80 years old, and those receiving an old-age pension. Regarding the old-age pension, the journalist notes that almost all retirees fall under this criterion, so there will likely be more details and nuances concerning this allowance.
To receive such an allowance, a retiree must personally visit the Pension Fund and provide documentation. Dear retirees, if you meet the criteria, please do not hesitate to seek assistance, take advantage of it,” emphasizes Yekaterina Kotenko.
Additionally, she adds, starting from December 1, everyone will receive 1,000 UAH from Zelensky, which can be spent on Ukrainian goods and services, including utility bills, electricity, tickets for "Ukrzaliznytsia," and medications. However, the journalist notes that it would be better if these funds were directed specifically to retirees, internally displaced persons, and others who truly need assistance.
