Entrepreneurs received 320 million UAH in compensation for employing internally displaced persons (IDPs) in 2024.

In 2024, over 10,000 entrepreneurs received compensation from the government for hiring internally displaced persons. In total, this amounted to 320 million UAH. A total of 15,200 displaced individuals were employed, nearly 600 of whom are people with disabilities. 

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy. 

The highest number of internally displaced persons were employed by employers in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava regions, and in Kyiv. 

The compensation program for hiring IDPs has been in effect since April 2022. For each employee among the IDPs, the government pays businesses a compensation equal to the minimum wage for three months. Currently, the minimum wage is 8,000 UAH. For hiring displaced persons with disabilities, the compensation period extends to six months. 

To receive the funds, the employer must conclude an employment contract (including part-time work), a gig contract with the internally displaced person, and submit an application for compensation through Diya or in paper form at the employment center where the business is registered.
