The Finnish authorities have announced that the tanker "shadow" fleet of the RF, Eagle S, which damaged underwater cables in the Baltic Sea, is unfit for navigation.

This is reported by Bloomberg.

The decision was made following a state port control inspection that identified 32 deficiencies on the vessel.

Among the issues, three were critical, including violations of fire safety, malfunctioning navigation equipment, and ventilation problems in the pump room, according to the Finnish transport agency Traficom.

"Before continuing its voyage, the vessel must rectify all identified deficiencies or provide a repair plan approved by the flag state," Traficom stated.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that on December 25, the electrical cable Estlink 2 between Estonia and Finland went offline. The tanker Eagle S is suspected of being involved in the damage to Estlink 2 and four other communication cables. The Finnish police detained the vessel.
