On the evening of November 17, Russian forces launched a missile strike on a residential area in Sumy. Ten people lost their lives, including two children – a nine-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl.
This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
A total of 52 individuals were injured. More than 400 people have been evacuated from damaged buildings. A resilience center has been established by the State Emergency Service. Psychologists are providing assistance to those affected.
Windows in six ten-story buildings were damaged, four cars were destroyed, reported the State Emergency Service. A thorough apartment inspection of all affected buildings is underway.

According to a report from the State Emergency Service, as of Monday morning, November 18, 11 people have died in Sumy due to the Russian attack, including two children, and 55 others were injured, among them eight children.
"The number of casualties from the missile strike on Sumy has risen to 89 individuals, including 11 children," the report states.
