Германия должна увеличить расходы на оборону, заявил Генсек НАТО.

The NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has urged Germany to increase its defense spending and arms production.

He stated this in an interview with Bild.

Rutte pointed out that since the onset of the war in Ukraine, Germany has done many things right, particularly by sending a permanent brigade to Lithuania and providing support to Ukraine like no other NATO European country.

“They are number one in Europe. However, considering the size of the German economy, we obviously want them to do much more. I am convinced that for Germany, with its fantastic defense companies and innovative strength, this means they need to increase production. Germany must boost military spending; it will be necessary,” Rutte said.

According to him, in addition to the threat from Russia, the Chinese are significantly expanding their military capabilities. Therefore, all NATO countries, including the United States, need to do more for defense.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Scholz warned about the dangers posed by the Russian "shadow" fleet and emphasized the need to increase defense spending.
