In 2025, family doctors in Ukraine will have the opportunity to earn higher salaries due to an increase in the capitation rate.
Health Minister Viktor Lyashko announced this during a briefing, as reported by Suspilne.
According to the minister, the budget for the upcoming year includes an increase in the capitation rate – the payment for medical services provided to one patient. This amount is based on the actual visits a patient makes to the doctor. Currently, the rate stands at 786 UAH 65 kopecks.
Lyashko clarified that salaries for medical staff are not set by the state, but rather by the management of healthcare facilities, depending on how much funding the institution receives for the services rendered.
“For us, there are two key priorities within the system. This system and reform are centered around a key individual – the patient, but we must not forget another crucial individual within the system – the healthcare worker,” the minister emphasized. However, he did not specify how much the capitation rate will be increased.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that starting from January 1, 2025, educators will receive a monthly "teacher's supplement" of 1000 UAH, and from September 1, this amount will increase to 2000 UAH.
