Two 14-year-old teenagers from Transcarpathia and a 22-year-old resident of Kyiv region were stopped near the border by border guards from the "Vylok" unit of the Mukachevo group. The minors were attempting to smuggle the evader across the border via the Tisza River.
As reported by the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service on January 6, the border patrol spotted a group of men heading towards the Tisza with an inflatable boat. Upon noticing the military personnel, the offenders attempted to flee but were apprehended.
“The border guards determined that two of the ‘runners’ are minors from the village of Vylok. The boys were escorting a Kyiv resident who intended to illegally enter Hungary. For the smuggling services, the Kyiv resident paid $8,500,” the State Border Guard Service informs.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the 22-year-old resident of Kyiv region. Employees of the Mukachevo operational-search department are identifying all those involved in organizing his smuggling across the border.
