A tragedy occurred in the village of Yablunivka in the Khust district. A 64-year-old resident of the village took her own life by setting herself on fire. Law enforcement has initiated a criminal case.
As reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region on January 8, the incident took place the day before on Oleksa Dovbusha Street in the village of Yablunivka within the Vyshkiv community.
“On January 7, a report was received about a case of suicide by self-immolation in the Khust district. As a result of the incident, a woman born in 1960 died. Rescuers were not involved at the scene,” the State Emergency Service informs.
The circumstances of the incident are currently unknown. The police in the Transcarpathian region have opened proceedings under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, marked as “suicide.”
