Law enforcement officials suspect a resident of the Kosiv district of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations. The 18-year-old faces up to 8 years in prison for administering a Telegram channel that reported on the distribution of summonses.
As reported by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region on January 24, a resident of the Kosiv region created a Telegram group in September 2023 to publish messages about the activities of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCRSS).
“The individual attempted to evade law enforcement, which is why he made the group private and concealed the identities of participants, including his own,” the SBU noted.
The Ivano-Frankivsk regional prosecutor's office added that the administrator used his own network of informants among the local population to gather information.
“In just October 2024, nearly 30 locations were leaked to the channel where employees of the Kolomyia TCRSS conducted mobilization activities,” the prosecutor's office stated.
The 18-year-old Telegram channel administrator has been notified of suspicion. For obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, he faces a prison sentence of 5 to 8 years.
