In Prykarpattia, a 19-year-old woman driving a Ford Mondeo tragically struck and killed a pedestrian.

On Friday, January 3, a fatal traffic accident occurred in the village of Bodnariv within the Kalush community. A 60-year-old pedestrian lost his life as a result of being struck by a car. This was reported by the police of the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

At the accident scene, law enforcement officials determined that a 19-year-old female driver of a Ford Mondeo, traveling along the N-10 road connecting Striy-Chernivtsi-Mamaliga, hit a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway at a designated crosswalk. The 60-year-old resident of the Kalush community succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver was sober at the time of the accident.

Following the incident, investigators initiated criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by individuals managing vehicles, resulting in the death of the victim) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and are in the process of determining all circumstances surrounding the event.
