On the morning of Friday, November 15, a fatal traffic accident occurred on the bypass road near Lviv, close to Yampol, involving a passenger car and a truck. It has been reported that two military personnel lost their lives in this incident.
The accident took place on November 15 around 08:00 on the Kyiv-Chop highway near Yampol. According to the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) in Lviv region, a serviceman, driving a military vehicle, veered off the road, collided with a guardrail, and subsequently crashed into a truck traveling in the opposite lane. The driver and passenger of the military vehicle died at the scene of the accident. Another passenger and the truck driver were hospitalized with various injuries.
As reported by ZAXID.NET from the Lviv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance, two participants in the accident died before medical personnel arrived, while two others were hospitalized – one man is in stable condition with a leg contusion, and another man, aged 51, is in serious condition, suffering from an open cranial injury and blunt abdominal trauma.
A criminal investigation has been launched under part 2 of Article 415 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic rules or operation of vehicles resulting in the death of several people). DBR employees are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
