На нефтебазе в Энгельсе произошел новый взрыв резервуара с нефтью, власти объявили чрезвычайное положение.

On a burning oil depot in the Russian city of Engels, which was struck by Ukrainian drones at night, local residents report that another tank has exploded.

Several Russian Telegram channels are sharing footage captured from a distance, showing a powerful flash and a column of fire and smoke.

"Engels is loud again. The second tank at the oil depot has exploded," reports the Russian monitoring channel "Pogranichye."

"The oil depot is burning again. It seems to be burning even more intensely than in the morning," states the local Telegram channel "Engels Online," which has published several videos of the fire.

The governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busergin, announced a state of emergency (SE) in Engels, where the oil storage facility of Rosrezerv is ablaze.

The decision was made in light of the expanding area of the fire, he explained.

According to Busergin, the fire is so intense that two emergency service workers have died while trying to extinguish it. Another was hospitalized.

Engels suffered a massive attack by Ukrainian drones on the night of January 8. Busergin reported that debris fell on an "industrial facility," igniting a fire.

Media outlets geolocated the impact site and determined that the target was the oil depot of the "Kristal" plant of Rosrezerv, where fuel for the "Engels-2" airfield is stored – the base for strategic bombers used in the war against Ukraine.

Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the oil storage facility, stating that hitting this target "creates serious logistical problems for the strategic aviation of the Russian occupiers and significantly reduces their ability to strike peaceful Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure."

This is already the third Rosrezerv storage facility to be hit by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Previously, drones attacked similar facilities in the Rostov region, specifically targeting the oil depot in Proletarsky and the "Atlas" plant in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. In the first case, the fire was extinguished only after 18 days, and in the second, after 12.

Following this, Putin dismissed the head of the emergency management department in the Rostov region.
