The Yavoriv District Court of Lviv Oblast found Senior Lieutenant Kateryna Ch. guilty of negligence in military service. She improperly accounted for military personnel, which resulted in unjustified payments exceeding 360,000 UAH to soldiers who had escaped from medical facilities. As a punishment for her violation, the court imposed a small fine on Kateryna Ch.
According to the ruling, which was published in the court register in November 2024, Senior Lieutenant of the medical service Kateryna Ch. is the head of the medical station of a mechanized battalion in one of the military units. She was accused of negligence in her duties due to improper accounting of military personnel who were undergoing treatment. Three soldiers escaped from medical facilities, yet from June to August 2022, they were unlawfully credited with monetary support totaling over 360,000 UAH.
In court, Kateryna Ch. admitted her guilt in allocating monetary support to military personnel despite the regulations. She informed the court that she had compensated for the material damage.
This case was examined by Judge Ihor Matviyiv, who reviewed all materials and arguments, imposing a penalty on the senior lieutenant – a minimum fine of 2465 UAH. The court ruling can still be appealed.
