The Boryslav City Court in Lviv region has issued a verdict for a teenager involved in a serious traffic accident at a pedestrian crossing in Boryslav. The boy, riding a motorcycle, struck a woman with two children, resulting in various fractures – the injuries to the children were classified as severe. As part of the criminal proceedings, a plea agreement was reached, and the perpetrator of the accident was sentenced to community service.

According to the verdict, which was published in the court register in November 2024, the accident occurred on the evening of November 14, 2023, on Danilo Halytskyi Street in Boryslav. At that time, a 17-year-old teenager (his name is withheld in the case documents) was riding a Tekken motorcycle, failed to choose a safe speed, was inattentive, and struck a woman with two children who were crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing.

The police reported that the victim was a 29-year-old resident of the area, along with two boys aged 5 and 7 years. The verdict states that all three were hospitalized, with the children being in the most critical condition; their injuries were classified as severe by medical professionals. One child suffered fractures in both femurs (one was closed, the other was open), while the other boy also had several fractures, including displaced femur fractures and fractures of the right and left tibia.

During the court session, the accused admitted his guilt. The case documents indicate that, with the consent of the victims, he entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor. This case was presided over by Judge Dmytro Panteleyev, who found the teenager guilty of causing the traffic accident and imposed a sentence of 100 hours of community service, along with a one-year ban on operating vehicles. The verdict can still be appealed.
