At the "Krakivets" border crossing with Poland, border guards and customs officials detained a truck that was transporting new clothing worth 2 million UAH under the guise of second-hand goods.
According to the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service, a Volvo truck arrived at the "Krakivets" crossing, driven by a 62-year-old native of Transcarpathia. The documents indicated that he was transporting used clothing.
However, during the inspection of the truck, border guards, in collaboration with customs officials, discovered approximately 1.5 tons of new clothing valued at around 2 million UAH. Typically, such schemes are attempted by violators to evade customs payments and fees.

The driver claimed to be unaware of the nearly 4,500 units of new clothing from various brands. He picked up the cargo in Slovakia and was supposed to unload it in the Lviv region.
As a result, customs officials drafted a protocol on customs violations against the offender, and the goods were confiscated for storage.
