At the border with Poland, Lviv border guards uncovered a fake couple consisting of a 26-year-old man from Kyiv and a 42-year-old woman with a disability. The woman entered into a marriage for money to assist the draft evader in fleeing mobilization.

As reported on Tuesday, January 28, by the Western Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service, the incident was recorded at the "Rava-Ruska" checkpoint. The 26-year-old resident of Kyiv married a 42-year-old local woman with a disability.

“According to the 'newlyweds,' they were heading to Poland to visit the husband’s friend. Later, it turned out that there was no friend abroad, and the woman was to receive a reward of $2,000 after smuggling the man across,” the State Border Guard Service stated.

During the conversation with the border guards, the couple could not agree on their place of residence. Additionally, there were other discrepancies.

The couple was not allowed to leave the country. The border guards sent a notification to the police regarding the illegal transportation across the state border.
