In Bukovyna, a state registrar has been informed of suspicion regarding official negligence. In 2022, he removed 100 hectares of land from state ownership in the Dniester district and transferred this land to the community of a village. The total value of the land is 7 million UAH.
During the investigation, law enforcement officials determined that in 2022, the state registrar registered the transfer of two plots of land from state to communal ownership in the Dniester district of Chernivtsi region. The official did this in violation of the law, as these plots were under the permanent use of the state breeding research station, the prosecutor's office of Bukovyna reported on Tuesday, January 28.
Law enforcement also found that the suspect should have checked the documents for legal grounds for changing the form of ownership of the land plots before registration. However, he failed to do so and conducted the registration without the appropriate decision from the administrator and without an act of acceptance-transfer of the land plots.
As a result of such actions, over 100 hectares were removed from state ownership. The value of the land amounts to approximately 7 million UAH.
Prosecutors from the Chernivtsi regional prosecutor's office have notified the state registrar of suspicion under part 2 of article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Official negligence resulting in severe consequences). If the official's guilt is proven in court, he faces imprisonment for up to five years, along with a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in specific activities for up to three years. He will also be required to pay a fine of 12,750 UAH.
