The Lviv National Medical University named after Daniel of Galicia will train combat medics. A modern center for the training of medical specialists has been established in the surgical block of the university's vivarium. The course for combat medics will commence very soon.
The renovation, costing over one million hryvnias, was funded by French partners "HuSoMe". The block has been equipped with the latest medical technology, costing nearly another million—assistance provided by Smart Medical Aid, reported the medical university.
This will be a unique training base where military medics can effectively master the latest surgical intervention techniques necessary for working in extreme conditions, particularly on the front lines.
“The course was developed by a professor of surgery at the Valdegas Military School and co-author of similar training for military surgeons in France, François Pons. Thanks to him, during the full-scale war, over 300 military and civilian surgeons from frontline regions of Ukraine have already been trained,” – stated in the announcement.
From now on, French and British instructors will teach Ukrainian combat surgeons modern techniques for conducting various surgical interventions. It is anticipated that instructors will be trained from among the university faculty, who will later be able to conduct courses for military medics as well. All funding for organizing the courses, purchasing consumables, and waste disposal has been undertaken by the training initiators—Smart Medical Aid and "HuSoMe".
The newly established block will also serve as a place where students and intern doctors can refine their skills. The course for combat medics will begin very soon.
