He discussed this on the program "Personality with Sergey Doiko".
“I anticipated that negative trends would develop more slowly, but when analyzing the numbers of self-releases from service and desertion, they are progressing at a faster rate than I had planned. I understood that without a change in attitude toward filling the army, this would occur, but I didn’t expect it to escalate so quickly,” notes Oles Doniy.
In particular, he recalls that during 2024, the number of cases of self-releases from service increased from 3,000 per month to 17,000, which is a catastrophic trend. Therefore, the key issue for Ukraine right now, asserts the guest of the program, is not even the finances and weapons from the new U.S. administration, but the people at the front and their motivation.
“Mobilization is just one of four components of filling the army, important, but only one of four. The first is public motivation, and that is the primary component. The second is military reform, the third is recruiting, and only the fourth is mobilization. So, we have the most problems with public motivation,” claims Oles Doniy.
As the ideologist explains, in 2022, Ukrainians flocked to the TCC because they were defending not just Ukraine, but a democratic state in which they had a lifestyle different from that in Russia. In other words, he continues, we knew that we had elected six presidents, had nine convocations of the Verkhovna Rada, meaning that the rotation of political elites is possible if we are dissatisfied with them, but then the authorities began to make categorically wrong decisions – they closed the borders, refused elections, and restricted citizens' rights.
As reported by Zna.ua, Sheitelman revealed who will compel Orbán to extend sanctions against Russia - the EU, the King of Belgium, or Trump.
Additionally, Zna.ua wrote that Bortnik explained which European countries are willing to compensate Ukraine for U.S. assistance in the war against Russia.
