Львов получил первые два б/у трамвая из швейцарского Базеля.

On the evening of Monday, January 27, the first two trams donated to the city by Basel, Switzerland, arrived in Lviv. They have already been unloaded at the premises of the Lviv Electric Transport Repair Workshops. This was reported by the Lviv City Council, referencing data from Lviv Electric Transport Company.

These are 26-meter Schindler Be 4/8 trams with a low-floor section, which will enhance accessibility for passengers. The next batch of electric transport is expected to arrive in Lviv in February. In total, Lviv will receive up to 25 such trams from the Basel Transport Company, with an additional 10 trams being used as donors for spare parts.

There is no need to modify the bogies, as the track gauge in Lviv and Basel is the same. However, the trams will undergo an adaptation process for certification according to Ukrainian standards, as well as the installation of AСOP audio information system equipment.

In addition to the free transfer of rolling stock, the project includes training for the technical personnel of Lviv Electric Transport Company. The project is being implemented with the support of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.

Additionally, last year Lviv received 6 low-floor trams from Bern free of charge. Currently, the trams are being prepared for operation on city routes. The remaining 5 trams are expected to arrive by March 2025.
