Leonardo DiCaprio will star in Martin Scorsese's film "The Devil in the White City." According to information from Deadline, 20th Century has resumed work on the adaptation. There is currently no script (though Billy Ray offered his draft back in the 2010s), nor is there a tentative release date.
This story revolves around serial killer Henry Holmes, who operated during the World's Fair in Chicago in 1893. The film is based on the book of the same name by Erik Larson. A psychological thriller based on true events, it is a New York Times bestseller and has received the Edgar Allan Poe award, the "Golden Dagger" from the Crime Writers' Association, and was a finalist for the National Book Award.
DiCaprio acquired the rights for its adaptation back in 2010, but in 2019 it was decided that the project would become a miniseries starring Keanu Reeves, which Martin Scorsese would only produce.
Now plans have changed again; Scorsese will take the director's seat, the series will become a film, and Leonardo DiCaprio will play the lead role. Both Scorsese and DiCaprio will remain producers of the project, just like in all previous stages.

Obsessed with murder, pharmacist Holmes equipped its basement with a gas chamber and crematorium. Around this time, dozens of women mysteriously disappeared, lured by the grand celebration and the blue-eyed charmer.
The film will mark the eighth collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio. The actor has starred in the following films:
