Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca has officially been dismissed from his position as head coach of Italian club AC Milan.
The club announced this following yesterday's match against AS Roma.
AC Milan was unable to secure a victory against the capital rivals, finishing the game in a 1:1 draw. This outcome was the final straw for the management.
Fonseca joined the Rossoneri this summer, signing a contract that extended until 2026.
According to Italian media reports, AC Milan had the option to terminate the agreement entirely if the coach was dismissed during the first half of his debut season, which indeed occurred.
Overall, the former manager of Shakhtar Donetsk led the team in 24 matches, winning half of them while drawing 6 and losing the other 6. Currently, AC Milan is in eighth place in the Serie A table with 27 points after 17 games, while in the Champions League, they sit in 12th position with 12 points from six matches.
