A former tax official from Lviv was caught lying on a declaration involving 5.5 million UAH.
The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) has discovered inaccurate information in the declaration of Serhiy Kondratiuk, Deputy Head of the Western Interregional State Tax Service for working with large taxpayers, amounting to nearly 5.5 million UAH. This was reported on the NACP's website based on the results of the verification of the official's declaration for 2023.
In the NACP report, it is noted that Serhiy Kondratiuk did not declare an apartment with an area of 57.8 m2 in the Park Tower residential complex on Stryiska Street in Lviv, where he lived in 2023 and which is registered in the name of a citizen named Maria Shpelik.
The official explained that his son lived in the mentioned apartment, which he visited. However, during monitoring, it was revealed that Serhiy Kondratiuk's son worked in Kyiv and left for abroad in October 2023, where he has remained.
Serhiy Kondratiuk himself indicated his place of residence in the village of Volya-Kovelska in Volyn in his declaration, although he actually lived in an undeclared apartment located near his workplace in Lviv. This is evidenced by the payments he made for utilities, internet, and so on.
Additionally, the tax official did not declare a 2023 Volkswagen Touareg SUV, which was purchased on credit in the same year and registered in the name of his son Roman Kondratiuk. The NACP established that this vehicle was actually used by Serhiy Kondratiuk, and it has been repeatedly spotted at his residence in Lviv. The tax official also violated traffic rules with this vehicle twice, for which he was held administratively responsible. Meanwhile, the official's son owns a BMW X5, which he took abroad.
Overall, the verification of Serhiy Kondratiuk's declaration revealed inaccurate information amounting to nearly 5.5 million UAH. Thus, there are signs of a criminal offense in the actions of the declarant, as stipulated in part 1 of article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (declaring false information), as noted by the NACP.
Serhiy Kondratiuk served as Deputy Head of the Western Interregional State Tax Service for working with large taxpayers in Lviv from 2022 to 2023, and prior to that, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Main State Tax Service of Volyn. In 2024, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Main State Tax Service in Kyiv.
