China has once again called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, stating that a political resolution to the conflict serves the interests of all parties involved. This appeal was prompted by the U.S. allowing Ukraine to use long-range missiles to strike Russian military targets.

At a briefing, the representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Lin Jian, mentioned this, according to The Jakarta Post.

“An immediate ceasefire and a political solution are in the best interests of all parties. The most important thing is to promote a rapid de-escalation of tensions,” he said.

Lin Jian noted that at this stage, “the most urgent task is to facilitate the quickest possible cooling of the situation.” China will continue to define itself as a neutral party in the conflict.

According to him, Beijing has “always encouraged and supported all efforts that contribute to a peaceful resolution of the crisis,” and is ready to play a “constructive role in the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.”

Furthermore, the Foreign Ministry representative dismissed claims that Russian drones were made in China.

“China has never provided lethal weapons to any parties in the conflict and strictly controls the export of military and dual-use technologies,” Lin stated.

China positions itself as a neutral party in the war in Ukraine and asserts that it does not send lethal aid to either side, unlike the U.S. and other Western countries.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that Turkish President Recep Erdoğan developed a plan to resolve the Russian war against Ukraine and intends to present it at the G20 leaders' summit, which will take place in Brazil on November 19-20.
