Onion fritters, or "tsybulyanyky," are a simple and delicious dish perfect for everyday meals, resembling potato pancakes in their preparation. These onion pancakes are great for breakfast or as a snack. To make them, you'll need a minimal set of ingredients that everyone typically has at home. The recipe for these tender inside and crispy outside onion fritters is shared by UNIAN.
To prevent the onion from stinging your eyes, soak the onion halves in cold water for 10 minutes. Finely chop the onion, place it in a bowl, and season with salt and pepper. Mix to allow the onion to release its juice, and let it marinate for 15 minutes.
Crack three eggs and beat them with a fork. Combine the onion with the beaten eggs. Mix the flour with the baking powder and sift it a few times. Combine the flour mixture with the onion. The batter should be quite runny.
Heat a pan with oil well. Spoon the future fritters onto the hot pan. Fry on each side for 4-5 minutes over low heat. If the onion is still raw inside, cover the pan with a lid while frying.
