The HUR has refuted media claims regarding Budanov's statements made during a closed meeting in the Rada.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense has refuted the media reports regarding an alleged statement by Chief Kyrylo Budanov at a closed meeting in the Verkhovna Rada.

The GUR announced this on their Telegram channel.

The message states that "the quote attributed to the Chief of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine from a closed, classified meeting of the Verkhovna Rada does not reflect reality." The intelligence officers urged the media not to spread rumors or unverified and unofficial information, especially concerning defense issues in the context of the war.

The GUR noted that certain political figures might distort information for their own interests, utilizing journalists in the process.

"We emphasize that the dissemination of any messages regarding discussions supposedly held at official classified meetings involving the military-political leadership of the state harms national security and is exploited by the enemy for their purposes," the message stated.

Recall: today, UP published a piece where an anonymous source cited supposed words from Kyrylo Budanov about negative processes for the state's existence in the absence of "serious negotiations" by summer.
