The Finnish Foreign Minister, Elina Valtonen, is urging Western leaders to refrain from calling Putin and advocating for coordinated communication with the Kremlin. She made this statement during an interview with the German broadcaster ARD, reports UNN.

Valtonen emphasized that European leaders should avoid telephone conversations with the Russian dictator.

The minister stressed the need for a joint response, not only from the United States but primarily in coordination with Ukraine.

She also mentioned that new sanctions against Russia, particularly restrictions on its so-called "shadow fleet," will be discussed at the foreign ministers' meeting on Tuesday.
