The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Haluschenko, outlined the reasons for implementing electricity supply restrictions for businesses and industry.
He shared this information in a comment to "Novyny.LIVE".
According to him, an accident occurred at one of the energy facilities that had been restored after Russian attacks, leading to a reduction in generation and an increase in the deficit within the system. At the same time, he pointed to a decrease in electricity imports from Europe.
"Ukrenergo" notes that on November 13, Ukraine plans to import 1,609 MWh from Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary. Moreover, the forecasted peak capacity during certain hours is not expected to exceed 115 MW.
However, Haluschenko emphasized that this is a temporary situation and urged people not to believe in the "return of power outage schedules".
For reference, Ukraine is currently capable of importing up to 1.7 GW per day from EU countries. Nevertheless, the parties have agreed to increase import capacities to 2.1 GW starting from December this year.
