Ukraine will receive a new defense package from Estonia ahead of winter. This was announced on Monday, November 11, by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
The provision of the military aid package was reported by Estonia's Minister of Defense, Hanno Pevkur, who visited Kyiv and met with Volodymyr Zelensky. The amount allocated for the defense package is currently unknown.
“I am grateful to Estonia and its people for the new military aid package ahead of winter, significant support since the onset of the full-scale war, and leadership in allocating 0.25% of the country's GDP for our military needs,” wrote Volodymyr Zelensky.
The President's Office did not disclose the full contents of the defense package, but clarified that, among other things, the aid package will include uniforms for Ukrainian soldiers.
It is noted that Zelensky and Pevkur discussed Estonia's potential to finance Ukrainian production of long-range drones and assist in the formation of new brigades. Additionally, the politicians talked about upcoming EU sanctions against Russia, aimed at targeting schemes that circumvent previous sanctions.
Recall that on November 7, debris from Russian drones that attacked Kyiv fell on the roof of a 33-story residential skyscraper, causing a fire. Notably, the high-rise, located in the city center, houses the residence of the Estonian ambassador to Ukraine, as pointed out by Volodymyr Zelensky.
