Energy providers have implemented emergency power outages due to a massive attack by Russian forces.

Russians have targeted power generation and transmission facilities across Ukraine.

On Sunday, November 17, emergency power outages were implemented in several regions and towns of Ukraine due to a massive missile attack by Russian forces. This was reported by Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.

According to him, where the situation allows, rescuers and energy workers are already working to eliminate the consequences of the shelling.

According to data from DTEK, emergency power outages were implemented in Kyiv, as well as in the Kyiv region, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk.

The head of the Chernivtsi regional administration, Ihor Taburets, reported that emergency power outages have been in effect in the region since 06:53. Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov noted at 07:14 that there is no electricity in some areas of the city, and all electric transport is not operational.

Updated at 11:10. DTEK energy workers reported at 11:07 that emergency power outages in Kyiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions have been lifted.

Massive Russian Attack on November 17

The launch of missiles from Russian strategic bombers Tu-95MS towards Ukraine was recorded at 05:42. Later, several waves of drones were detected in the airspace. In the morning, Russians also launched sea-based cruise missiles “Kalibr” from the Black Sea waters. At 7:10, the Air Force announced launches of air-launched ballistic missiles “Kinzhal” from Tambov.

During the missile attack, several explosions occurred in Kyiv. In the Holosiivskyi district, a fragment of an enemy missile fell near a supermarket. Additionally, drone debris fell in the Desnianskyi district in open areas, and in the Dniprovskyi district – in the green zone of a park.

Explosions were also heard in Odesa, Kryvyi Rih, Pavlohrad, Vinnytsia, and Rivne. In Mykolaiv, as a result of a drone attack, two people died, and six others were injured.

At 7:30, Suspilne correspondents reported explosions in Khmelnytskyi region. Power outages were reported in some neighborhoods of Khmelnytskyi.

In the Sheptytskyi district of Lviv region, as a result of falling debris from a Russian missile, garages and a car caught fire. Rivne also suffered a missile strike, and residents were warned about possible disruptions to water supply.

In Volyn, a missile hit an energy infrastructure facility. Preliminary reports indicate that there were no casualties or injuries.

Updated at 10:54. It became known that as a result of falling debris in the Sheptytskyi district of Lviv region, a woman died, and two others were injured. A main heating supply pipe was also damaged.
