The former deputy mayor of Horodok in the Lviv region, Mykola Shchur, has been appointed as an advisor to the Department of National Security and Defense of the President's Office. Until now, Mykola Shchur served as the deputy mayor under Volodymyr Remeniak for almost four years.
Mykola Shchur announced his new appointment at the President's Office via Facebook. He also mentioned that he will be working with the former commander of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar," Pavlo Palisa, a former resident of Horodok, who was appointed as the deputy head of the President's Office at the end of November earlier this year.
The 40-year-old Mykola Shchur has been serving as the deputy head of the Horodok community since January 2021, a period of nearly four years. In 2022, he served in the 5th Separate Assault Brigade of Kyiv. Previously, he led the Lviv Regional Territorial Election Commission. In 2014, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada from Oleg Liashko's Radical Party but did not succeed.
