Football journalist Ihor Burbas reported on how prohibited substances entered the body of Ukrainian national team midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk.
According to his information, the Croatian physiotherapist of the Ukrainian national team, Ivan Porobiia, administered a stem cell injection to Mudryk, which may have contained the banned meldonium.
“When Mudryk was in the national team camp, he complained of discomfort in his knee. Porobiia, reportedly, took it upon himself to treat Mudryk with a stem cell injection directly into the knee. The stem cells themselves are used for the regeneration of all, especially damaged, cells in the body,” Burbas explains.
He also mentioned that this injection might have consisted of stem cells derived from cow cells.
“As I was informed in the national team camp, these were indeed cells from a cow, in whose body this meldonium could have previously been present,” the insider added.
