The dollar has once again reached a historic high, according to data from the National Bank of Ukraine.

On Wednesday, January 8, the National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate at 42.23 UAH/$, indicating that the hryvnia has weakened by 3 kopecks compared to the previous figure. The dollar has once again reached a historical peak.

This is evidenced by data on the regulator's website.

The previous peak was on January 7, 2024 – 42.1959 UAH per $1.

Today, on the interbank market, the rate increased by 7 kopecks, reaching 42.30–42.33 UAH/$ (buy-sell) compared to the previous day's close.

According to the National Bank's data, the cash market rate for the dollar remained unchanged at 42.70 UAH.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that on the last day of the year, the official rate would exceed 42 UAH per dollar. The hryvnia exchange rate for 2025 is projected at 45 UAH per dollar.
