Diana Popova shared the current stage of development for the Museum of Avant-Garde.

“We will continue to develop this institution. You know, inside I already walk through the halls of this Museum, I can envision in my dreams what it should be like, but this is only in the planning stages, as there is still significant work to be done in establishing the institution itself,” reports Diana Popova.

According to her, at this moment, the Museum of the Avant-Garde already exists as a legal entity, but there is still much work ahead to fully realize it, to make a statement about ourselves and our Ukrainian avant-garde. In particular, the guest of the program notes that they still need to recruit specialists and arrange the premises, which they have already addressed to the Department of Municipal Property.

“In reality, this is only the first step to make the Museum's collection accessible to its visitors and audience. This is what we promised and what we are working on. Therefore, the next exhibition will definitely take place next year, featuring the avant-garde collection in the Museum of the History of Kyiv. Moving forward, we are focusing on the premises and the team; this is a significant project ahead of us,” shares Diana Popova.

As she emphasizes, the avant-garde was a part of Kyiv's rich history, an integral part of it, and thus deserves its own branch today, a separate Museum. When the full-fledged institution is created, the guest of the program states, it will be a great achievement.
