Special Representative for Ukraine under Trump, Keith Kellogg, stated that the elected U.S. president "is not trying to give anything to Putin," but rather wants to "save Ukraine and its sovereignty."
Kellogg made this remark during an interview with Fox News, commenting on Trump’s statements at the press conference on January 7.
He added that he does not want to speak on Trump’s behalf – the president will speak for himself, and the team will have more opportunities once he officially takes office after the inauguration.
In Kellogg's view, Trump will be able to propose an "acceptable solution" to end the war "in the near future."
"And when I say in the near future, I would like to set a personal and professional goal. I would say, let’s establish a hundred days," he added.
Background. Recall that Trump accused U.S. President Joe Biden of starting the war between Russia and Ukraine on January 7. He claimed that Biden’s support for Ukraine's NATO membership led to the Russian invasion.
"I could understand their (the Russians') feelings," Trump said, asserting that NATO could have been "standing at their doorstep."
Trump's statements are far from reality, as Biden has never officially supported Ukraine's aspiration to join NATO, an expert explained.
