The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) have reported suspicions against Yuriy Korymshkin, the husband of People's Deputy Iryna Korymshkina from the Servant of the People party. He is suspected of laundering assets obtained through illegal means and providing false information in his declaration as a former member of the regional council.
This was reported by the SAP press service.
The investigation has established that between 2021 and 2022, the deputy acquired ownership of over 20 million UAH. This amount exceeds her official income and savings during that period.
According to law enforcement, in order to "legalize" this money, the deputy's husband "committed a series of transactions and financial operations with the specified funds." This allowed him to purchase a house near Odesa through a legal entity, where the couple later resided. Neither he nor his wife declared this house. He faces up to 8 years in prison.
Yuriy Korymshkin himself wrote about the announcement of the suspicion on social media. "Today, I was handed a notice of suspicion for the 'legalization' of funds given to my wife by her father, which she declared. Meanwhile, we had a loan agreement between us. This is the only evidence!!! The second suspicion was issued because, in the detective's opinion, I 'incorrectly' declared my place of residence," he noted.
Korymshkin added that the announcement of suspicion against him is an attempt to "pressure" his wife. According to him, law enforcement offered his wife to take the blame for a crime she did not commit. She did not agree to a deal with the investigation, which is why the case is falling apart.
In October 2024, the SAP prosecutor informed Iryna Korymshkina of suspicion of illegal enrichment. In January 2025, the deputy received another suspicion of providing false information in her electronic declaration.
